Situation:
Previously convicted drunk drivers have often been re-offending, causing highly unsafe road conditions and hazards.

Objective:
To encourage the Ohio Judicial System to provide unlimited driving privileges to first-time offenders, only with the caveat that the offender installs the Ignition Interlock Device into their vehicle to ensure legal blood-alcohol levels prior to engine ignition.

Outcome:
CIIM and MADD were successful in passage of Annie’s Law in 2016. Annie’s Law (House Bill 388) significantly strengthens Ohio’s OMVI law while encouraging offender usage of the Ignition Interlock Device.
